Up to 67% reduction in GHG emissions
compared to petro-based ECH.
Sustainability
Reducing the environmental impact and carbon footprint of everyday products is essential if we are to respond to the climate emergency and stop climate change before it’s too late.
Everyday products are often made from many different chemicals. The responsibility on the chemical industry is clear. We must minimise the impact of the products we make. AGC Vinythai has been reducing the environmental impact of its product since the very beginning of its journey.
Improved product sustainability with EPINITY®
Imaging a coatings manufacturer replacing the petro-based ECH in their coatings with EPINITY®. By using this coating, the end-users in the automotive, construction, and marine transport industries can reduce their carbon footprint dramatically. Or imagine making snowboards and surfboards from EPINITY® composites and resins which reduce the impact on the environment they were created to enjoy. All of this and much more is already possible with EPINITY®.
Considerably lower emissions
A comparative Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) benchmarked EPINITY® against a state-of-the-art petro-based ECH.
The LCA found that EPINITY®’s total Global Warming Potential (GWP) including biogenic carbon and direct land use change is up to 67% lower than for petro-based ECH.
100% renewable carbon
Being derived from vegetable-based glycerine means EPINITY® offers 100% renewable carbon content in the product to customers and downstream users. The result has been proven by radiocarbon (C14) analysis under ASTM D6866 by a credible laboratory.
Sustainable production
Reduced use of

resources
Less waste and
pollution
100% of the

recycled
*Brine is a high-concentration solution of salt which can occur as a by-product from ECH production.
In terms of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, a comparative Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) benchmarked EPINITY® against a state-of-the-art petro-based ECH. This cradle-to-gate environmental assessment was reviewed and validated by DEKRA, a leading certification body in environmental management.
